Thieves strike again at business park in Doncaster
Posted on December 07th 2011
The owners of the Hayfield Business Park in Doncaster will be relying on their business insurance to cover the cost of replacing stolen phone and internet lines, again. The South Yorkshire Times reports that theft of copper cables has become a recurring problem for businesses that operate from the South Yorkshire business park.
Offices that should have been full on a normal working day were left empty after staff had no choice but to go home until the repairs had been carried out. The revenue lost by companies because they could not operate without phones or internet will hopefully be covered by their business insurance.
The latest theft came just eight days after the thieves first struck, raising questions about the level of security at the business park. A total of 280 metres of copper cable was stolen last Monday, and police have confirmed that there have been similar thefts at other locations in and around Doncaster over the last month.
Business insurance policyholders in Doncaster should be aware that BT have now named the South Yorkshire town a national hotspot for metal thefts, and would be wise to take extra precautions to protect their businesses.
