Dragons Den snubbed by James Caan
Business insurance customers will be surprised to hear that James Caan has announced that he is to step down from the popular BBC2 entrepreneurs' showcase 'Dragons Den'.
Speculation had been rife since March last year that Caan would not be able to sit on a panel with Duncan Bannatyne after their row about Caan's don-domicile tax status. The argument, which spilled over into accusations of race-bias, has meant that the two have not, according to the Daily Mail, spoken to each other for over nine months.
In a move that signifies the importance of social media today James Caan made the announced through his Twitter account. He informed his Twitter fans, business insurance customers among them, that "after 4 fantastic seasons, I have made the decision to step down from the panel of the much loved Dragons Den". So Duncan Bannatyne will not be sharing a studio with him after all.
Caan then sent another message trhough Twitter, adding "I will be focusing on my existing investments and some exciting new projects through @HBPrivateEquity and philanthropic work with @The_JCF".
Who knows, with the TV work slowing down, leaving more time for philanthropic work and private investments there may be a chance that Caan's business insurance premium will go down too.
